How Ayurveda Changed My Life
A few years ago, I felt constantly exhausted, stressed, and disconnected from my body. No matter how much I rested, I never felt truly refreshed. My digestion was off, my skin felt dull, and my mind was restless.
Tough i growup seeing my grandparent's and parents following holistic ayurvedha practices's since ages i for some extence followed a few practices but not completely into it.
One day, a my mom introduced me to Ayurveda—an ancient Indian healing system based on balance and alignment with nature. I was skeptical at first. How could a system developed thousands of years ago help with modern problems?
But as I started applying small Ayurvedic practices—like eating according to my body type, following daily rituals, and living in sync with nature—I noticed a shift. My energy improved, my digestion felt better, and I felt more connected to my body and mind.
If you've ever felt out of balance, this post is for you. Let's explore the basics of Ayurveda and how you can use its wisdom to bring harmony into your life.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda = "The Science of Life" (Ayur = Life, Veda = Knowledge)
It's a 5,000-year-old Indian system of natural healing that focuses on:
Balance – Keeping the body, mind, and spirit aligned.
Prevention – Strengthening health before illness appears.
Nature's Wisdom – Eating, sleeping, and living in harmony with natural cycles.
Ayurveda teaches that health is not just the absence of disease—it's a state of balance and vitality.
The Three Doshas: Understanding Your Body Type
In Ayurveda, we are all made up of three energies (Doshas): Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Each person has a unique combination of these energies, which influence body type, digestion, emotions, and overall well-being.
The Three Doshas Explained:
Vata (Air & Space)
Creative, energetic, fast-moving.
Light, dry skin, and sensitive digestion.
Prone to anxiety, overthinking, restlessness.
Needs warm, grounding foods & a stable routine.
Pitta (Fire & Water)
Intelligent, focused, and passionate.
Strong digestion, warm body temperature.
Prone to irritability, acidity, and inflammation.
Needs cooling foods, relaxation, and stress management.
Kapha (Earth & Water)
Calm, nurturing, strong endurance.
Slower metabolism, smooth skin, steady energy.
Prone to sluggishness, weight gain, and attachment.
Needs light, warm foods and regular movement.
Not sure which Dosha you are? Most of us have a dominant Dosha, but we can have a mix of two or all three!
How to Bring Balance Using Ayurveda
When your Doshas are out of balance, you might experience digestive issues, mood swings, low energy, or skin problems. Here's how to restore balance:
1. Eat According to Your Dosha
Vata – Warm, nourishing foods (soups, rice, nuts).
Pitta – Cooling foods (coconut, cucumber, mint).
Kapha – Light, spicy foods (ginger, lentils, greens).
2. Follow a Daily Routine (Dinacharya)
Wake up early (before sunrise if possible).
Drink warm water to cleanse digestion.
Practice self-care (oil massage, meditation, yoga).
3. Live in Harmony with Nature
Align meals, sleep, and activities with natural rhythms.
Spend time in nature to restore energy.
Reduce stress through mindfulness, deep breathing, or herbal remedies.
Ayurveda isn't about strict rules—it's about listening to your body and making small, mindful adjustments.

Since applying Ayurveda to my daily life, I've felt more balanced, energized, and in tune with my body. It's not about following rules—it's about creating a lifestyle that supports your natural rhythms.
